Challenge welcomes scholarly papers which analyze any aspect of problems associated with African Americans. In particular, it seeks to encourage research which integrates conceptual or theoretical ideas with rigorous empirical data. As the official publication of the Morehouse Research Institute, Challenge will publish solicited papers presented at its annual conference. Other unsolicited papers will also appear; for directions, please refer to instructions for contributors. Articles submitted for publication in Challenge should conform to the style set forth by the American Sociological Association and found in "Instruction to Contributors" in the American Sociological Review. Original typescript and three duplicates should be sent to the Editor. Unsolicited papers should be accompanied by a stamped, self-addressed postcard. Manuscripts will not be returned to authors. Both solicited and unsolicited manuscripts will undergo a process of blind review. The name(s) of Author(s) should appear only on the title sheet. You should allow two months for review and notification of acceptance. Publication of Challenge is made possible by a grant from the Ford Foundation and in-kind contributions from Morehouse College.
