The International Journal of African Historical Studies is devoted to the study of the African past. All aspects of Africa's history are covered from prehistoric archaeology to the present problems of the continent, including the interaction between Africa and the Afro-American people of the New World. Articles are in both English and French, and the publication of original source materials, drawn from both written and oral sources, is encouraged. The book review section provides a thorough review of the current literature dealing with Africa's past. Contributions are welcome, including manuscripts and documents of interest to the historian, historical anthropologist, and archaeologist of Africa. Manuscripts may be of any reasonable length, in English or French. They must be typed double-spaced and submitted in triplicate. Style considerations are not pertinent until after a manuscript is accepted. In most cases we are not able to return manuscripts.
